October brings plenty of news from Efteling! There are various updates from all the realms of the park. Let’s highlight a few.
The Efteling Theater is currently undergoing a long-awaited maintenance, with scaffolding up around the building. Meanwhile, visitors can catch a glimpse of the first gabled façades of the highly anticipated Grand Hotel, slowly taking shape on the existing paving—a thrilling step forward for this iconic new building. Additionally, the spectacular water show Aquanura has been closed for maintenance since September 2nd, but fortunately, the frog fountain in the Fairytale Forest is up and running again!
On August 28th, a new guard was installed in the Fairytale Forest, but the Red Riding Hood sign is still missing. The dragon is back in action, and The Six Swans is once again open—although the swans are still without their wings. Sadly, the Fairytale Tree remains non-interactive for now. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of The Chinese Nightingale, a special pin has been released for fans to collect.
Marerijk A delicious new vegetarian kroket is now available at Smulpaap. However, due to supply issues, there won’t be any Coca-Cola Freestyle cups available until October, when we expect a new design—perhaps related to Danse Macabre? Raveleijn will continue to feature birds and horses for at least another year, and after a long closure due to wood rot, Lachuys has finally reopened. Travel Realm Exciting developments are underway in the Travel Realm as a new stage for Jokie and Jet has been built. This is paving the way for phase 2 of Archipel, which is now open again, though currently without water. Over at Kashba, there’s a new loaded croissant on offer for visitors to enjoy.
For collectors, a stunning miniature model of Baron 1898 has been released. It’s a high-end collectible, priced at €300. Other Realm At Danse Macabre, the first permanent construction fences have been removed, and the pathway is open again. Joseph Charlatan has taken his place, and the conductor will be revealed on Friday the 13th. The countdown has begun, with the next update to follow soon! In other news, the classic Dutch TV show Te Land, Ter Zee en in de Lucht has been a huge success and will be returning for a second season, with the possibility of a winter edition.
The Efteling and Anton Pieck Collectors Fair will take place on October 27th in Drunen, just a 15-minute drive from the park. Entrance is only €2, so it’s a great opportunity for fans and collectors alike.
Other Parks The latest Halloween announcements video is now online, and tickets for Light Safari (running from November 28th to March 9th) are now available, with an Early Bird discount of €5 per person.
Meanwhile, the construction of the single-rail coaster at Walibi is progressing smoothly, although no official updates have been shared about the project. Mentioned links: - https://www.youtube.com/@efteling
