Efteling, the beloved theme park in the Netherlands, never ceases to amaze visitors with its constant evolution and enchanting experiences. In this blog, we'll take a closer look at the latest updates, new additions, and ongoing renovations at Efteling that will surely spark your curiosity and anticipation.
New Summer Entertainment
During the months of July and August, Efteling is introducing exciting summer entertainment options. One of the highlights is a stage next to the Python roller coaster, where visitors can delve into the world of g-forces and learn more about the thrilling attractions in Ruigrijk. Guests can even participate in experiments themselves. Additionally, Reizenrijk will host the Jokie and Jet beach party, featuring an impressive 18-foot high hot air balloon, a giant sandcastle, and a bouncing castle shaped like a sombrero. The festivities will include shows with Jokie and Jet, as well as lively performances by a mariachi band.
Colorful Souvenir Line
Efteling has recently launched a vibrant new line of souvenirs, consisting of 17 unique items. From pens to umbrellas, and from notation books to sweaters, these colorful mementos can be found at Efteldingen, In den Oude Marskramer, and Jokies Wereld. Fans were initially taken aback when the souvenirs were revealed in the shop windows, but upon seeing them in person, they have become a wonderful addition, especially for those who appreciate this style. Notably, Efteling has prioritized sustainability, with the umbrella being made from recycled PET bottles.
Maintenance and Updates
Huijverwoud, the upcoming area for the Danse Macabre attraction set to open in 2024, has been undergoing extensive construction in recent months. The grocery shop, In de Swarte Cat, and the toilet unit known as The Last Hope are nearly finished and will open to the public in the coming weeks. This will provide visitors with a glimpse of the atmosphere surrounding the new attraction. As soon as Danse Macabre officially opens, we will create a video showcasing this exciting addition. Fairy Tale Forest Enhancements: Herautenplein, a section within the Fairy Tale Forest, has undergone significant renovation work. The wall of the magic clock has been completely rebuilt, and the pavement has been renewed. The Efteling expects the renovations to be completed in the next few weeks. While no specific details about changes have been mentioned, we hope to discover delightful surprises when the square reopens.
The Steam Carrousel will be closed for renovation from June 19th until July 21st. The maintenance of the Baron attraction has experienced delays due to waiting for parts. As soon as the necessary components arrive, the attraction will reopen promptly. The Efteling recognizes Baron as a flagship attraction, and they are working diligently to minimize the downtime. Furthermore, various construction works are taking place at the Efteling Hotel, with a new color scheme being implemented. These renovations are expected to be completed this summer.
Digital Enhancements: Efteling has released an app update that allows visitors to scan their annual pass within the app, a highly requested feature. Although still in beta version, this improvement provides added convenience. We eagerly anticipate further additions to the app, such as a digital photopass, interactive options, and table reservations, to enhance the overall guest experience. Make sure to have the app installed during your visit.
